Bio
Joni writes songs about the challenges of being uncomfortably human, and uses her piano as a sonic backdrop to her lyrics. She has self released two albums, her most recent 'A Bird's Heart' was released in 2008. Joni is currently working on material for her third album, due to be released in early 2010. Joni lives in Northern California, where she grew up, just a short drive from the Pacific Ocean.
Musical influences include Kate Bush, Bill Callahan, Maria Callas, Nick Cave, Chopin, Emmylou Harris, PJ Harvey, Will Oldham, Nina Simone, Sparklehorse, the Tindersticks and Tom Waits.
